technology as CD-Rs but with a different dye and smaller geometries. Before
this DVD format had a capacity of 3.95 GB but current versions offer 4.7 GB
with a Dual Layer (DL) version (DVD-R DL) offering 8.5GB per disc.
DVD+R discs are not supported by DVD Forum, but are very similar to DVD-R
media. They are developed by Philips and Sony as an extension of the DVD+RW
format supported by DVD+RW Alliance.
The DVD-RW and DVD+R are similar to the DVD Media that we talking before,
but this formats are the two official re-writable DVD Media. The first one
offer 4.7GB capacity per side and they are designed to be compatible with
existing players and drivers, and are able to recordable over 1000 time.
In other way the DVD+RW is a rewritable forma introduced on 2001 by the DVD+RW
Alliance. This DVD media has a capacity of 4.7 GB and do not need a cartridge
like DVD-RAMs, and they offer 1000 re-writers.
